Living in a Hendertuckian neighborhood. I’ve lived on the west side where the houses are newer but the crime is much higher. If the rest of ya’ll don’t want to live in one of the best neighborhoods in Henderson because of the name, then well….you know…
UNLV professor Michael Green said the term “Hendertucky” picked up popularity in the 1990s after Henderson expanded west in the late 1970s.

Being retired has its advantages- plenty of time to tend a salsa garden! San Marzano and sauce tomatoes; Big Jims for Chile Rellenos; Cubanelles and Dragon Toe (all mild) for salsa. And there's at least 100 more coming in soon 😱. I am also trying several Thai chiles, Chicago peppers (of course) and a couple Super Hots (Ghost and Scorpion).

Restaurant equipment and small wares all for sale at Tucky’s today. From 10am to 1pm today.

Dear Customers,
It is with great sadness that I must close Tucky’s effective 12/31/2021. This has been the most agonizing business decision I’ve ever made.
Unfortunately, there has been a perfect storm of events leading up to the closure. The inability to hire competent staff; the ongoing supply chain issues; the unprecedented inflation with no end in sight; the leaky roof; the old sewer system, ancient fixed equipment and leased building that is in constant need of costly repair. But most of all; it’s time for me to semi-retire and focus on my health, family and friends.
Well before closing Tucky’s became a necessity, I decided to open a “cloud kitchen” named Smok’n Bones BBQ. This restaurant serves the I-15 corridor and surrounding area for delivery and pick up only. Smok’n Bones BBQ will provide catering services throughout the Vegas valley as Tucky’s did.
This kitchen will serve the same delicious slow-smoked meats and homemade sides as Tucky’s. Cloud kitchens function easily with minimal staff and overhead.
I’ve loved Tucky’s and its customers and derived immeasurable satisfaction from serving the best BBQ anywhere. I wish all a Happy New Year during this festive holiday season and it has been my great privilege and pleasure to serve you at Tucky’s.
Sincerely yours,
Ms. Gail, Owner, Tucky’s BBQ Company
