Greetings friends!
Coming in hot with a new collaborative event, Sound Bites, featuring musician and artist Nathan Hall this July 21st and 22nd! Nathan is a composer and artist in Denver with a doctorate in music. He has created garden soundscapes for the Clyfford Still Museum, made a whirly tube sound heavenly, and released an album of music with percussionists playing ancient carved stones.
I had the pleasure of meeting Nathan at a workshop hosted by Home Safe Projects by Rebecca Peebles , where he guided us through a series of sound making exercises that ultimately left me with goosebumps. I swear, in those moments of vibrational synchronization, I felt what could only be described as collective effervescence, where the group felt like a single unified entity. And no, I was not on drugs. :) But obviously, I wanted to be able to share this with the Stowaway community and well, here we are!
Each night will include:
- a welcome cocktail - (NA available upon request)
- 4 course pescatarian meal (vegetarian option available upon request) *sorry but we cannot accommodate dairy allergies for this event
- an interactive group exploration that harmonizes sounds with the menu
- a musical performance from Nathan and other musicians during the main course
This collaboration will take place at Stowaway on Tuesday July 21st and Wednesday July 22nd from 6pm - 9pm. Tickets are $125 and available for purchase HERE. **Upon purchasing your ticket(s) please answer the prompted questions!**

WOW. We are now officially Snail of Approval awardees! So proud to be a part of the Slow Food movement! Thank you Switch Gears Farm for nominating us and Scraps + Forte Fruits + JFS Altius Farms for backing us up and Slow Food Denver for believing in us! If you got a Snail Trail dining passport this year, come see us for a special treat 😘
I remember reading Alice Waters’ book, Coming to My Senses on the plane ride stateside after living abroad for nearly a decade. Newly intertwined with a kiwi husband and a dream to create our own little cafe, still wet behind the ears. This book gave me the courage to delve into a world that I had no solid foundation in. Only a passion for food and community. Alice not only showed me it could be done, but also taught me that real creativity often emerges from not having a blueprint to follow.
I had the good fortune of meeting Alice a few years ago at a Slow Food Denver event (thank you Caroline Glover 💗) and her passion for food justice inspired me all over again. This industry is for dreamers and lovers. ✌️❤️🌈
