Originating in Korean cuisine, bulgogi became a popular food around the world. The term translates to ‘fire meat’ as its history started with using skewers on a hwaro grill. It has now evolved to be a marinated meat with soy sauce, sesame oil, and sugar. The reason we picked Bulgogi tacos for our event is they are a perfect fusion of Korean and
Mexican culture. Bulgogi and tacos are both representative of their countries’ cultures due to their accessibility and familiarity. This recipe draws on those aspects to create a dish that showcases international food’s development into something more globally accessible. We are so excited for Chef Sonny's debut with our special! Join us in savoring culinary delights on March 20th at UNLV Stan Fulton Building. Mark your calendars, we'll see you there!

Hello everyone, it's my pleasure to introduce myself as the General Manager of Seoul Belly, Benjamin Rivas. Seoul Belly is a restaurant concept my team and I created with the hopes of inspiring cultural interactions between Korea and the local community while at the same time reintroducing some familiar flavors the locals may correctly identify as Mexican. I'm a longtime Vegas local with family ties to Los Angeles, and by extension, Honduras and El Salvador. I am tremendously excited to show all of our physical guests the skills that we have cultivated in our years in UNLV's Hospitality Undergraduate program. Of course, I am also excited to share all of our experiences in the Bistro 410 course with all those interested in Seoul Belly's path from concept to our official first service to the public.
