Hi friends! Meet Jax! A regular at our Henderson locations. This is his mama Sara who is born and raised in LAs Vegas. They like to come to mothership and have a mama and doggy date on our patios. Sara gets the strawberry matcha latte with oat milk iced and Jax gets the bourbon vanilla whipped cream. Don’t worry there’s no alcohol in the whipped cream. The vanilla beans are from the area of bourbon Madagascar that’s why it’s named that. Jax is super popular and everyone loves him. We think he’s the best and he has a great mama! We asked if we could let people know she’s single. She said yes.

Tessa and I connected trying to figure out who would open the door for each other going into Mothership Coffee at the Bend. What a fun impromptu talking about our favorite people, favorite coffee and taking selfies to share! Her with her best friend in Oceanside (I love that place) and me with our social media folks. Be aware I’m cruising to get to know our community so you may be next!

There is genuine deep love in being able to express Mothership. Designing is one way that love comes across. Design is questions we ask about the world around us or the reality we want to create through world building. How does this space want to come alive? Who is this space serving? How can we take someone’s breath away? Why does this space matter? I got to ask these questions and then some with arguments with construction, with money and with men mostly. It informed the color of the space I demanded to claim from these interactions. Feminine and strong to welcome in strong loving masculine energy.

As I'm designing Mission Linen and thinking about how we fit into the Arts District community, the same theme kept popping up: being a woman in business, a woman in the coffee industry, and the beautiful challenges of dealing with a lot of men in different authority positions. The clashes I got into bringing this beautiful space to life.
Along the way, I wanted to stay feminine and bring femininity into the Arts District. More importantly, I wanted to use that feminine space to provide friction and moments of collision between humans and our community.
It was really important for me to have that theme written out and find the right artist to bring that to life. I got to meet this wonderful individual at Sign Language Hand Painted Nevada Hand Painted. The serendipity that's happened along the way in finding him: driving down Sunset rd passed by Heritage Tattoo LV Heritage Tattoo. I saw their beautiful sign, and it led me to know that this was the right person for the job.
I just really wanted to shout him out on social media, and he also brought up a really cool idea. Instead of doing regular outdoor signage, we could have something hand-painted. I wanted to poll it out to our community and see how people felt about whether that would be an added benefit to the Arts District.
In addition, the last photo is me trying to figure out how to take photos. Sometimes failures can be a win!

To get to the coffee shop located on Saint Rose Parkway in Henderson, you can take the bus number 120 or 217 and get off at the intersection of St. Rose Parkway and Maryland Parkway. From there, you will have to walk for about ten minutes to reach your destination.
If you prefer driving, take I-15 South, exit on St. Rose Parkway and turn right onto Las Vegas Boulevard South. After half a mile, turn left onto Amigo Street and continue for another half a mile until you reach your destination. There is parking available in front of the coffee shop as well as on nearby streets.
